I am not a professional in photography. Until recently I had several point-and-shoot cameras, but none of them made by Canon, Olympus, Nikon, Sony or Pentax. So when I finally decided to buy a DSLR, I have no brand affiliation or knowledge. I have a lot of research on DSLRs, read reviews and looked at different models of services and features. Finally, I chose the Pentax K200D and I'm happy with my decision. Here are some of the reasons I chose this model from Pentax in comparison to others thatI have read about it:

1) It is the first camera in its class, is environmentally sealed

2) While some models can only be saved, JPEG medium quality, the Pentax K200D makes high-quality JPEG and RAW storage at the same time (RAW +).

Read 3) As a preview of Popular Photography, this camera is an SLR camera with a mixture of a tank. It is very strong and solidly built, and I must admit that I got the impression that some equipment from Canon and Nikon were a littlethreadbare.

4) Although some people believe that AA batteries are a disadvantage, I think this is an advantage. And good 2500mh AA batteries are very cheap and you can find them in every shop around so that you do not more that the juice to make.

5) The model supports any Pentax lens ever made.

6) In-body stabilization – it is a very nice feature. He translates the lenses to buy and save not once did my shots.

7) It is an APS-CSensor.

I have the camera for a few days now, and I must say I am quite satisfied by it. From what I've read on the Internet, is the kit lens is not as bad as the other cameras and I "played" with him for a few days. The autofocus system is quite fast, but I did experience a slight delay in low light.

The burst rate is composed of 4 RAW or JPEG, but it is ok for the moment. If I have a memory card with lots of memory I'll see if there is a disadvantage for me. Ifind the grip and handling is very comfortable. Even the menu is to be understood very clearly and simply. The manual is huge, and explains everything you need to know the functions of the device.

I've tried using it in low light situations, at night, and I have very good results. So now I am very happy with my choice for my first DSLR satisfied.
