When shopping for a digital SLR, or sparing people often overlook the camera's lens. Camera lenses are used as digital SLR cameras "eye," the lens determines what and how you will see your camera on the subject and how well that view is transmitted to the camera's sensor chip for recording. I like the way camera lenses look as brush painting broad strokes, medium-Stokes, all purpose cleanerSmall detail brushes. There is a lot to learn about digital SLR camera lenses and in this article to understand how a basic outline to them to serve. The following sections explain the basic types of digital SLR camera lenses, how they work and how they choose.
Focal
On a digital SLR camera the focal length of lens measures the distance between the lensand the image sensor, measured in millimeters. Lentils can be divided into subgroups such as prime, macro, wide angle, normal, are classified tele and zoom lenses. They are also related to the assessment of f-stop or speed of an example of this would be a F2.0 50mm lens or 1.4F 80mm lens. We will explain this later in this article.
Prime lenses:
Prime Fixed focal length lenses like a 50mm lens 1.4f. To enlarge this type of lenses, you should use your feetand closer to or further away from the subject. Traditionally, prime lenses are sharper and faster than zoom lenses. If you are on a budget you can pick up some amazing older used prime lenses from eBay or your local camera store.
Macro lenses:
Macro lenses are brushing your details they let you close and personal with your subject. This type of lens for extreme close-ups of small objects such as daisies, pennies are used, and food, but notthese types of issues is limited. Examples of macro lenses are 50mm and 100mm macro. These lenses are also ideal for selective focus types of photos.
Wide-angle lenses:
Wide-angle lenses are your broad brush stroke, these types of lenses have short focal lengths. The short focal length has the visual effect of "pushing" the subject away from you and it appear smaller. The beauty of the wide-angle lens is, you can relative to your topic and fit in the vicinitya broad stroke of the background in the scene.
One problem with wide-angle lenses, the convergence is well known that a distortion makes vertical structures appear to lean toward the center of the frame. One way to check if has the wide-angle lenses you are interested in the convergence test to take pictures before buying the lens. With high-quality wide angles lenses such as Canon L-series lenses address this issue convergence well. Examples of wide-angle lenses are 15mm, 17mm, 24mm and28mm lenses.
Normal Lenses:
Normal lenses to try to mimic how the human eye sees are some of the most versatile lenses you can use. These are my all-purpose brushes are somewhere between a wide angle and telephoto lenses. If you buy only one lens to try and buy the fastest lenses you can use a normal 50mm lens as 1.4f. Some examples of standard lenses are 35mm, 50mm, 65mm, and some hold a 80mm normal lens.
TelecommunicationsLenses:
Lenses with long focal lengths 100mm and higher than telephoto lenses. A long focal length seems to bring closer the subject and to increase the size of the subject in the frame. Telephoto lenses give your subjects look like a graphic, and remove you to your topic. These lenses are my short stroke brushes.
Zoom Lenses:
Zoom lenses are special because they can be very versatile. This type of lenses differ in their focal lengths and come inmany in wide-angle, telephoto and wide-angle to telephoto. In my pocket I wear a wide-angle 17mm to 35mm my wide brush, 24mm to 70mm my medium brush, and a 80mm to 200mm of my brief brush. With these three lenses I have a very board range of focal lengths for each situation. All I have at least f2.8 through the zoom lens range, which means my f-stop, can remain constant, while I am in and zoom out. This type of lenses are very expensive, but get as what you pay for. When shopping for aZoom lenses check out the f-stop range rating. An example is a 24mm to 300mm F3.5-F5.6 lens meaning the lowest f-stop you can shoot them, is in the range of 24mm lenses, and if you zoom to 200mm the lowest you can go is f5.6 . Zoom lenses can give you flexibility and versatility in one lens. When buying a zoom lens and you try that one is made of glass and the fastest you can afford, you will not regret it.
To understand what is being done these different groups of lenses that canHelp you buy better-informed decisions about the objectives and what you in your camera bag.
