Let me start by saying that I am one of amateur photography is not the way I earn my living …

I work for a company providing structural steel for the business of GC throughout Texas. I use this goal to take pictures of great buildings! I can follow more closely the building and take a big table with lots of sharp detail in the foreground and the background blur in the background. Without it, I used a 50 or 85 millimeters and that I should feel too much and miss the details closely.
Limit: One thing to note is that on a 10D, the goal is so great that the camera flash will cast a shadow on your photos. This is not a problem with my 30D (or with a Speedlite), but it is a problem when my father uses for his 10D and do not want to take a Speedlite.

Overall, I really like using this lens and use a lot … In reality, it remains on my camera 85% of the time.

Good quality and excellent pictures – T. Petursson – Iceland
The lens is easy to use, it is rather lightweight and the picture quality is excellent. I took a trip to Times Square at night, after having received the lens and shot some amazing images, using only the ambient light available. I will definitely use the lens for landscape photos of shots night here in northern Iceland.

Although I am very new in the DSLR world I jumped at this end, the L series and I love it. Super sharp images, beautiful colors, are developing very fast, and having to play with 16 millimeters wide angle is great fun. There is certainly a little fall 'of light in the corners wide open at the opening down, but stopped is not really a problem. There is slight distortion at the widest angle, but I have a little 'as the fact that I am not embarrassed by it. They are very dark and overcast conditions forThe f/2.8 is great. The only thing that I have been grappling with outbreaks and in bright conditions. Reported close to the sun to 16mm, even with the hood should always be careful. As I said, I have so much experience but I can not say if this is normal or not. The combustion is not something so bad that can not be corrected in Photoshop. I am extremely satisfied with this goal!

On 22 February 2007, Canon has announced a "II" version of this goal that will correct the problems of optical performance that goal is. The new target has been completely redesigned, and need massive 82 millimeters filters. Ouch! I do not have this, as I am now waiting to see if the version II will be more expensive, or if this version will go below $ 1000. As mentioned, the new version will need filters of 82 mm, which will be even more expensive version of the filters I used.
