Here are some guidelines for better pictures with a digital SLR camera:

Simplicity – Remove any clutter from the scene you shoot. Zoom cover the part you want to say too.

Rule of thirds – you will find this rule is often called, and it is a good way to capture a moving object. Imagine a tic-tac-toe frame and capture the issue from one of the two sides.
